Where to start... I haven't had the time to draw much this year, and there hasn't been much to photograph either, so it's been a bit quiet here for a while, for which I'm sorry to anyone still watching me!
I'm trying to write my dissertation at the moment, which is draining and pretty disheartening, so isn't really helping matters. However, once it is done, over the next month or two, maybe I'll have a little more time for creative activities... But I won't truly be free until after my exams in June, so I'm afraid that my contributions to dA will probably be patchy for a while.

But I'm still alive, just so you know.

Hello everyone
Well, today I finally completed the 200th kanji request. It has taken me the best part of two years to get through the four threads, and I've had to turn far too many people down, but I'm working on it.

I've just been compiling a spreadsheet to help me keep track of all the requesters, to make sure that people don't get turned down too many times.
There are four people who are having to request for their third time, so I'm bumping them right to the top of the list. Other than that:

Since I began the request threads in January 2006,
The threads have run to the best part of 1000 replies, consisting of
200 fulfilled requests
170 rejected requests (sorry!)
but of those 170, more than 40 have subsequently got their request in the next thread or the one after.
And to the remaining 130 or so people - I'm really sorry, but please keep trying, and I'm sure I'll get to you eventually!

Well, that was quick! I'll do these as soon as I can, and then see how things stand, and whether I have the time to do any more.

Hello everyone
Against my better judgment and the shreds of my sanity, I'm opening up calligraphy requests again for a limited time. Now, as I'm sure plenty of you know, the list tends to fill up very quickly, and I get far too many requests to possibly do them all.
(Last time the list filled in under 24 hours)
Therefore, people who've been turned down before will be given priority, and I have to place a couple of restrictions on requests:
1. People who have been turned down on previous threads get precedence.
2. Please only ask for one name, or two if it is for a couple. Firstname/surname is ok.
3. Convince everyone you know that what you want for your next birthday, christmas etc. is one of my prints! or not...

I am provisionally going to do only 12 requests to get to the 200th kanji request. We'll see how it goes from there.
