These kanji read ratoya, rakisha, kajija, aida, transiterations for LaToya, Lakeisha, Khadijah and Ida, with meanings "fasttalking-bird coop", "snail-charity" "fire-person" and "love-field".

Oh, this is so cool! :aww: Thank you so much for this! So...from left column to right column, it's LaToya, Lakeisha, Khadijah, and Ida...right? And does transliteration mean that you find kanji characters that have the same matching sounds as the western name?

I have to say...I'm highly amazed at the meaning you got for Khadijah's name, "fire-person"....because that actually fits her personality! LOL!!

Thanks a lot again! :+fav:

Ah, right column to left column, actually (Japanese is a right-to-left language). And yup, that's how the transliteration works. Glad you like them :)

Oh, one more question (sorry to bother you ^^;)...what's a bird coop?

A building in which birds live... like a dovecote, henhouse etc. You might want to go with dovecote... it's more poetic!
